Why do I ask but not receive?
Do you ask wrongly? Is it a want or a need? Do you feel that strongly? Is it truly God’s will? Or not what He wants? Would He truly fulfill A wish just to please you? Only bits of the puzzle, We don’t see the whole picture. Perhaps there’s a purpose? Does it line up with Scripture? Seek God first, And blessings will follow. He wants our hearts, Not something shallow. Don’t name it and claim it, That’s a false doctrine. Would a Father give their child Something rotten? Be patient and ask all things, Your Father already knows. Good tidings He brings, Wants to prosper, not harm you. Sometimes the answer is yes, Sometimes no or not now. Maybe He’s got something better? Though you might not see how. Whatever the answer, We don’t always like it. With time, maybe after, We can appreciate it. So don’t stress or distress, If in a pickle or mess. Don’t press or obsess, Or second guess. Praise God in all circumstances, Not just when things go well. Why don’t you ask? Take a chance. If it’s no, then try not to dwell. There must be a reason, Though it doesn’t seem fair. For everything there is a season, A time to laugh, cry, dance, die… We don’t always understand, When some are taken from us, That they might’ve been spared Any worse evil that was to come. It rains on both the just and unjust, God can use bad for good, But sometimes we won’t find Satisfactory answers in this life. Sometimes we’re to blame, It’s not that God doesn’t care. We’ve got a responsibility People don’t want to share. Don’t seek happiness In passing things. Trust our Father to bless With what’s needed. Comments are closed.
